🌎 Bank of Greece data on travel spending shows a significant increase compared to 2024
✅ Italian, French and German tourists chose Greece this summer, according to the latest tourism data released by the Bank of Greece.
The data, which covers June, reveals that travel receipts rose by 8.8 per cent in June 2025 and by 11.0 per cent during the January to June 2025 period, compared to the same periods in 2024.
✅ June saw growth in tourism income
In June 2025, revenue from travel increased by 8.8 per cent compared with June 2024. More specifically, revenue from travel by residents of EU-27 countries grew by 5.5 per cent, reaching €1.74 billion, while revenue from visitors outside the EU rose by 12.0 per cent to €1.40 billion, up from €1.25 billion in June 2024.
The growth in revenue from EU-27 residents was mainly driven by a 13.5 per cent increase in spending by visitors from eurozone countries, reaching €1.41 billion in June 2025 compared to €1.24 billion the previous year. However, revenue from visitors from EU-27 countries outside the eurozone fell by 18.8 per cent, down to €332 million.
